Joel Derechinsky '10 Drafted To North American Lacrosse League

As announced by the North American Lacrosse League (NALL), Gordon Men's Lacrosse alumnus Joel Derechinsky was selected by the Kentucky Stickhorses in the league's inaugural draft held on December 11.

A total of 80 players were selected in the 16-round draft for the league's five franchises, which will each play a 12-game regular season schedule highlighted by exhibition matches and a season-finale NALL Championship.

Derechinsky, a 2010 graduate of Gordon, was chosen in the 13th round (65th overall) as one of 16 players for Kentucky's club. He will join the ranks of elite players from all of Division I, II, and III collegiate lacrosse, including fellow Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) alum Brandon Dube, who graduated from Endicott in 2009.

During his four years as a Fighting Scot, the attackman amassed an impressive 129 points on 87 goals, 42 assists.

Said Gordon Head Coach Warren Shumate, "
Our program is proud of Joel’s accomplishments. He is a dynamic player and we wish him all the best in this new professional opportunity."
