Men's Soccer Announces Class of 2019

Coach Derek Potteiger and the Gordon Men's Soccer program welcome the commitment of nine future Scots to the class of 2019.

The Fighting Scots had another standout season under their second-year head coach and finished with an overall record of 14-5-2. Gordon earned the second seed in the Commonwealth Coast Conference and made it all the way to the title game before following to top-seeded Nichols in overtime in the championship game. The Fighting Scots return much of their nucleus from the run to the conference championship and hope to take another step forward in 2015.

Coach Potteiger had this to say about his incoming class:

I am thrilled with the group of incoming freshman. We continue to create momentum in the program with each recruiting class and I believe these 9 guys will become the backbone of the team for the next 4 years. They are each so different – both as players and as individuals – and yet I think they are going to be a really unified group and make a big difference for us on the field this fall. I know the season is still 3 1/2 months away but I am already looking forward to getting them here for preseason!

I am thrilled and honored to be part of the Gordon's Men's Soccer team. During my college search, I quickly realized that Gordon alone offers the camaraderie, unity, and culture of excellence on and off the field that I had been looking for. The coaching staff is phenomenal and has already invested countless hours into my life. It became obvious through a variety of circumstances that God's plan for me was to attend Gordon. So, I am confident that over the next four years I will certainly grow as a player, a student, and a man of God.
