Gordon Ice Hockey: Meet the Coaches

7110HEAD COACH: PAUL D'AMBRA
Paul D'Ambra was born in Worcester, Massachusetts in the heart of the Bobby Orr hockey era and has had a longtime passion for the game and its history, playing in leagues year round for over 30 years. A graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, he works as a software engineer and lives in Beverly with his wife, Gordon alumna Charae (Spuler) D'Ambra '96, and their two young children. He and his family are active members of their church, High Rock North Shore, and serve their local community as owners of an indoor play space for young children and their parents.

D'Ambra has great respect for the quality of education Gordon has to offer and the character and accomplishments of its alumni. He hopes to channel his passion for hockey and the Gordon community into growing the Gordon Club Ice Hockey program.

7109ASSISTANT COACH/MANAGER: JOE IRIANA
Joe Iriana '16 was raised in Kennebunk, Maine and spent most of his formative years in the neighboring town of Wells. Born into a family of former hockey players, he grew up loving and following the game, spending countless hours playing street and floor hockey and watching the Portland Pirates (AHL) and Boston Bruins. While a student at Gordon, he joined the club ice hockey team his sophomore year and took on managerial duties in addition to playing his junior year. By his final season, he was selected as a captain and worked to make Gordon an official ACHA member.

Iriana graduated with degrees in mathematics and biology and works at the College as a stewardship coordinator in the Development office. He currently lives in Beverly with two apartment mates and a spirited Boston terrier named Nina.

7108ASSISTANT COACH: ANDY HAYES
Andy Hayes was born in Sussex, New Brunswick, and has spent his life playing or being involved with hockey. A graduate of Boston University and Eastern Nazarene College, he went on to earn his MBA from Babson College where he was a member of the club hockey team. Hayes has multiple connections within the Northeast hockey community, with specific ties to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) and the Saint John Sea Dogs. He also has many years of coaching experience at the minor house league hockey level in Eastern Massachusetts and Canada.

Hayes works as a director of sales for Brother International Corporation and specializes in sales and marketing for national retail accounts. He resides in Easton, Massachusetts with his wife Kathie and has two children, Kyle '17 and Kasey '20, currently enrolled at Gordon.

7124ASSISTANT COACH: MIKE EGAN
Michael Egan '16 was born in West Chester, Pennsylvania where he spent his early childhood and teenage years playing competitive travel hockey in the DVHL for the Valley Forge Colonial hockey program and the Chester County Cougars as well as for Delaware County Christian School. A four-year starter, he was one of the leading point producers each season.
 
Egan graduated with degrees in finance and business administration with a minor in sport studies and was an influencial member of the Gordon Men's Lacrosse team.  He currently works for Graystone Consulting, an investment arm of Morgan Stanley, where he specializes in business development and account management.
