Gordon College freshman forward Fredi Nielsen (Bridgeport, Conn.) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the second time this season as announced today by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye.

Despite an 0-2 week for the Scots, Nielsen averaged a double-double with 12.5 points and 13 rebounds. She recorded 17 points, 19 rebounds, and three blocked shots in a tough 66-53 home loss to Roger Williams on January 22, finishing just shy of Gordon's single-game rebound record but earning the most ever by a freshman in a single game.

Later in the week, she recorded eight points and seven rebounds in a 55-41 home loss to Nichols.

Overall she is averaging 10.4 points, 8.3 rebounds per game on the season.
