Gordon Athletics is seeking individuals passionate in sports communications to fill four internship positions. These semester long internships focus on position-specific learning objectives and application in real time game environments. The Gordon Athletics Internship Program will allow students to develop valuable skills for their career path while contributing quality work to Gordon Athletics.
STATISTICS INTERN
Position Summary:
Seeking individuals passionate about content creation and dedicated to learning the responsibilities of a college sports content creator. Interns will work alongside the Communication Director and/or Stat specialist during home games to record statistics to upload to our website and NCAA. In this position you will set up stat computers, operate stat software, spot stat specialists, and assist in managing stats on our website. Other tasks may be assigned based on need and the interns interest.
Essential Functions:

Record stats with NCAA Live stat/Presto stat at home games

Archive and track stats on website

DIGITAL MEDIA INTERN
Position Summary:
Seeking individuals passionate about content creation and dedicated to learning the responsibilities of a college sports content creator. Interns will work alongside the Communications Director to create and upload digital content to Gordon Athletics’ social media platforms. In this position you will have the opportunity to photograph and film home games, edit digital content in Lightroom and Premiere Pro, and create graphic designs in Photoshop. Other tasks may be assigned based on need and the interns interest.

BROADCAST COMMENTATING INTERN
Position Summary:
Seeking two individuals passionate about sports commentating and dedicated to learning the responsibilities of a college sports play-by-play/color commentating. Interns will work alongside broadcast specialists to play-by-play/color commentate our home games. Interns will also learn the setup of home game broadcasts. Other tasks may be assigned based on need and the interns interest.

JOURNALIST INTERN
Position Summary:
Seeking an individual passionate about sports journalism and dedicated to learning the responsibilities of a college sports journalist. Interns will work alongside the Communications Director to write post game stories/press releases for the athletics’ website and social media platforms. This position will have hands-on opportunities writing post-game stories, awards press releases, championship previews, special features, and more. Other tasks may be assigned based on need and the interns interest. We’re looking for a hard-working individual to work game days and non-game days, with a drive to learn more about all facets of sports journalism.
