Sophomore swimmer Emily David (North Kingston, R.I.) has been named Gordon's Athlete of the Week after leading the Scots' charge in the recent New England Championship.

Returning to her home stomping grounds, David put up a record-smashing time in the 200 backstroke event on day one of competition, posting a 2:16.54 to edge the 10-year-old record by a few seconds. The following day she teamed up with Katherine Zablocki, Emily Sneddon, and Nicole St. Martin in the 200 medley relay for a 1:59.03, good enough for sixth place in the region and an All-New England nod. Individually she also came in eighth in the region in the women's 50 butterfly.

To close out an already record-setting weekend, David broke her own record in the 50 backstroke and earned an All-New England nod in the process with a 29.30, and booked an All-New England sixth place in the 400 free relay (55.48).
