Junior forward Hans Miersma (Whitinsville, Mass.) has been named Gordon's Athlete of the Week after collecting All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) First Team honors and his second consecutive CCC Defensive Player of the Year nod.

Miersma continues to be a high impact player for the Fighting Scots, who have earned the No. 3 seed in the upcoming CCC Tournament. In the CCC, the junior ranks first in blocks with 45, second in field goal percentage (55%), and third in rebounds with 150. The forward broke the single-game record for blocks at Gordon after recording nine against Salem State, while also breaking GC's all-time record for blocks in a career in two and a half seasons.

Currently, he is three blocks away from tying Gordon's single-season record of 75 blocks. Miersma is currently seventh among all NCAA Division III men's basketball players in blocks per game with 3.27.
