Gordon Softball senior captain Skylar Bareford (Stonington, Conn.) has been named Gordon's Athlete of the Week after pitching the Scots to a pair of pivotal Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) wins last week.

Facing top-ranked Endicott on April 16 in the week's opener, Bareford was outstanding in the circle for the Scots, hurling seven innings of shutout ball to hold the top offense in the CCC to only three hits en route to the 2-0 win.

Then, dueling Nichols the following day for a spot in the postseason tournament, Bareford helped the Scots complete a late comeback victory over the Bison, going the distance once again to earn the 3-2 win after allowing eight hits and two runs (one earned) with two walks and three strikeouts.

The Scots have three non-conference doubleheaders this week before the conference tournament begins on Saturday, April 26.
