Lydia Ellsworth (Jr./West Chester, Pa.) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week and Gordon's Athlete of the Week after helping the Scots go 2-0 in conference play last week.

In a 4-1 victory over Western New England on October 1, Ellsworth registered a defensive save to keep the Golden Bears from scoring on their only shot in the first half of the game. Then in the Scots' Homecoming grudge match with Endicott on October 4, Ellsworth booked her second defensive save of the week in the second half to stop the Gulls' go-ahead goal and send the game to overtime and an eventual Gordon win.

She now leads the conference in defensive saves with six on the season.
