Rookie goalkeeper Jay Gallipo (Dover, N.H.) has been named Gordon's Athlete of the Week after taking home Commonwealth Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors on Monday.

Gallipo has started all three games to begin the season as Gordon has charged out to a 2-1 record with wins of Maine Maritime and Salem State. The rookie allowed fewer than 10 goals in all three of his outings, while playing full time in a 9-3 loss to Eastern Connecticut. He saved 64.4 percent of the shots he faced and made a season-high 18 stops in the defeat against the Warriors. Gallipo only allowed four goals against Maine Maritime (22-5 win) and three to Salem State (8-6 win) in 100 combined minutes between the two games.
