Sophomore Maddie St. Julien (Wareham, Mass.) erupted with a record-setting performance to lead the Fighting Scots to a third-place finish in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championships hosted by Roger Williams on Saturday.

Whatever the sophomore multi-event performer entered on Saturday she turned into points for the Scots. With senior standout Corrine Previte (Danvers, Mass.) missing the meet, St. Julien picked up the slack for Gordon to reel in a bronze medaling for the squad.

St. Julien opened the day with third in the 100 Meter Dash, finishing with a time of 13.44 in the final heat. Just an event later, she followed that up with fourth in the 200 to earn another four points.

She then turned her attention to the sand where she won the women's long jump going away. She bested the competition by a full foot and smashed the Gordon record in the process with a day's best mark of 5.05 meters. Her best jump also created a new meet record, beating RWU's Megan Breault, who set the record in 2011 at 4.99 meters.

The record breaking was not done there as she set another school mark in the triple jump by leaping to a 10.76 final—good enough for third in the meet.
