Women's lacrosse sophomore midfielder Stephanie Fitzgerald (Groveland, Mass.) has been named Gordon's Athlete of the Week for her outstanding efforts in helping lead the Fighting Scots to a pair of non-conference wins last week.

In the Scots' season-opening win over MIT on Tuesday, Fitzgerald netted four goals and dished one assist while grabbing a game-high 10 draw controls to lead Gordon to a 16-13 victory over the Engineers. She then followed that up with a two-goal, one-assist, and five-draw control performance as the Scots cruised to a 15-8 win over visiting Simmons College on Thursday.

Currently she leads the team in points (8), draw controls (15), and caused turnovers (6).

Fitzgerald and the rest of the Scots have a two-game non-conference week ahead, traveling to face Misericordia on Tuesday, March 13 at 4:00p.m. and returning home to host Husson on Saturday, March 17 at 12:00p.m.
