Senior first baseman Emily Borden (Groton, Conn.) has been named Gordon's Athlete of the Week for her record-breaking  final season on the diamond for the Fighting Scots this spring.

Borden made her second consecutive appearance on an All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) team at the conclusion of this year's campaign, moving up to Second Team this season after earning an Honorable Mention nod in 2011. Batting .460 on the year, she recorded 40 hits and 25 RBIs for the Scots with 53 total bases and three home runs. On defense, she also registered 186 putouts, seven assists, and just five errors on the year for a .975 fielding percentage at first base.

At the close of the regular season, Borden ranked first in the conference in batting average and on-base percentage (.538), fourth in RBIs, fifth in slugging percentage (.609), seventh in putouts, eighth in total bases, and ninth in walks (14).
