Gordon Women's Tennis senior-captain Sarah Hickey (Stony Brook, N.Y.) has been selected as Gordon's Athlete of the Week for the week of August 13.

After being sidelined for much of the 2011 season due to injury, Hickey is back full strength to lead the Fighting Scots in their 2012 effort, set to kickoff on Sept. 4 at home against non-conference Suffolk University.

Said Head Coach Peter Amadon of Hickey, "Sarah’s season was unfortunately cut short last year due to a knee injury. She has worked hard to come back and, to further demonstrate her commitment to our team, changed her intended study abroad semester to this coming spring so she could play in the fall. As a captain, she will be a great leader to our young team. Her skills and determination on the court will make her a strong player again this season.”
