Gordon men's soccer forward Andrew Vandervoort (So./Memphis, Tenn.) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in helping the Scots go 1-0-1 last week.
Vandervoort was crucial to the Scots’ overtime win over non-conference opponent Bridgewater State on September 7, netting three in a row (two in the second half and the game-winner in overtime) to lift Gordon to its first win of the season, 3-2. Taking on Nichols College on Saturday in a rematch of the 2010 CCC Championship game, Vandervoort netted the equalizer in the 82nd minute to force overtime in an eventual 2-2 draw in Gordon's CCC opener.
The Scots return to action on Tuesday, September 13 as they travel to face Bowdoin in non-conference play before heading to northern New York to take on St. Lawrence on Friday, September 16 and Clarkson on Saturday, September 17.
