Freshman swimmer Emily David (North Kingston, R.I.) has been named Gordon's Athlete of the Week for her breakout efforts in the lanes for the Fighting Scots in the opening meets of the 2012-2013 season.

Hosting Bridgewater State in the final meet of the first semester on Tuesday, Dec. 4, David broke a 12-year old school record in the 50 back with a 30.22 time and followed that up later in the evening with another school best in the 100 IM at 1:05.81

This past weekend at the Snowball Invitational hosted by Roger Williams University, she recorded a top time in the 100 back at 1:04.98 and finished a close second in the 200 back at 2:22.61. Over the course of the two-day event, she also booked a trio of third place finishes in the 50 free (26.42), 200 free relay (1:50.61), and 200 medley relay (2:02.91).

Overall, David has recorded 10 individual top finishes and been a part of five top relay finishes:
