Junior thrower Megan Wernig (Gilford, N.H.) has been named Gordon's Athlete of the Week after breaking the school record in the weight throw at the Harvard Open on December 8.

Wernig tossed the 20 lb weight 9.49 meters (31' 1.5") on her first throw of the day to surpass the previous mark of 30' 5" set by Emily Borden in December of 2010.

She will look to further that mark when the Scots return to action for their second meet of the indoor season on January 26 at the University of Southern Maine.
