Men’s basketball senior forward David Dempsey (Wallingford, Conn.) has been named Gordon's Athlete of the Week after being selected to the All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) First Team for leading the Fighting Scots to one of their most successful seasons in program history.

Dempsey garners the First Team selection for the second consecutive year after captaining the Scots through an impressive 21-7 season campaign. In those 28 games-played, he averaged 15.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 50 percent (174-343) from the floor.

At the close of the season, Dempsey was his team's leader in total points (427), steals (32), co-leader in assists (30), and was second in rebounds (188 total, 6.7 per game), assists (79 total, 2.8 per game), and blocks (35 total, 1.2 per game). In the CCC he sat third in blocks per game (1.2), fourth in points, and seventh in rebounds per game.

Over the course of his standout career, Dempsey recorded 1,424 points, 682 rebounds, 225 assists, 114 steals, and 94 blocks.
