Zach Hall (Sugarland, Texas) has been named Gordon's Athlete of the Week after another standout week on the hardcourt for the Fighting Scots last week.
Despite an overall team loss to Johnson & Wales in match one of the week on April 8, Hall and No. 1 doubles partner
Kenny Gaudio (Jr./Miller Place, N.Y.) took down James Adriano and Mars Wala, 9-7, after which Hall cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Adriano at the top of the singles ladder.
In a 9-0 sweep over Rhode Island College on April 11, Hall and Gaudio secured an 8-4 doubles win over Alex Werchadlo and Ben Proctor while Hall recorded a 6-3, 6-1 individual decision over Werchadlo to help preserve the Scots' shutout win.
Facing Nichols College in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) showdown on April 13, Hall and Gaudio fell 6-8 in doubles play before Hall took one of the top players in the region through a grueling three-set battle, eventually conceding a hard-fought 7-6 (9-7), 6-7 (7-9), 0-1 (5-10) result to the Bison's Justin DeLuca at No. 1.
Hall currently stands at an impressive 11-3 overall and 8-6 in doubles play.
