Junior softball captain Skylar Bareford (Stonington, Conn.) has been named Gordon's Athlete of the Week after a stellar effort at the plate for the Fighting Scots last week.

Bareford led the Scots' way offensively to a 4-2 record, batting .412 (7-17) with eight RBIs and a .474 on base percentage.

In a 5-4 non-conference win over Regis on April 18, she went 2-3 with two RBIs and followed that up in game two with another RBI to help the Scots complete the sweep with a 6-2 victory.

She also went 1-3 with two RBIs in a big 3-0 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) nightcap win over Salve Regina on April 19.

Overall on the year Bareford is batting .344 (33-96) and leads the team with 25 RBIs.
