For her performance on the women's soccer team Karina Scavo has been selected as the Gordon College's Athlete of the Week. Scavo helped lead the Fighting Scots to a pair of wins last week over Colby-Sawyer and Wentworth, netting a goal in each to help move the Scots to 6-4 overall on the season. She is leading the Scots in points through their first ten games wth 10 (four goals, two assists).
After a highly successful 2010 season, Scavo was honored by the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) as an All-Conference First Team member while also being named to the (NEWISA) All-New England Third Team.
Scavo and the Fighting Scots have a big two-game schedule this week, hosting the University of New England on Tuesday, October 3 at 3:30p.m. and Salve Regina University on Saturday, October 8 at 12:00p.m. on Gordon's Homecoming.
