Gordon Takes To The Trails At Western New England Invitational

Traveling to Springfield, Mass. today for the Western New England Invitational, the Fighting Scots posted strong individual results as they build toward to Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championships slated for October 29.

For the men, this was the largest meet in the 12-year history of the event with 16 teams and 177 runners competing on the 8,000-meter campus course. Levi Miller (Sr./Coopersburg, Pa.) recorded the top score for the Scots and his best time of the season with a 28:32 finish, good enough for a 29th place finish, while Andrew Kwiatkowski (So./Yorktown Heights, N.Y.), Dwight Huseland (Fr./Lebanon, N.J.), and Jed Meyers (Fr./Medford, N.J.) each set personal records on the day. Overall the men finished ninth out of the 16-team field.

The women, who finished fifth out of the 19 competing teams, had three top-20 finishers in Allison Lynch (Sr./Holliston, Mass.), Emily Urquhart (Fr./White River Junction, Vt.), and Katie Hakanson-Stacy (Jr./East Longmeadow, Mass.). Lynch posted her best time of the season at 20:19 on the 5k course, finishing as the top CCC runner in the meet. Urquhart and Hakanson-Stacy also represented the CCC well, coming in third and fifth out of conference runners with 20:34 and 20:43 times, respectively.

The upcoming CCC Championship will be hosted by Roger Williams University at Colt State Park in Bristol, R.I.
