On the road in Quincy, Mass. today to take on the Lions of Eastern Nazarene in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) match, the Fighting Scots rode a first half goal to a 1-0 victory over their hosts to improve to 8-6 overall, 4-3 in conference play.

With both teams sharing equal possession throughout the half, it was the Scots who struck first with 15 minutes to play in the opening stanza when defender Angela Muñoz (East Stroudsburg, Pa.) roofed ENC keeper Rachel Henry (Fr./Lowell, Mass.) from 40 yards out to give the Scots the 1-0 lead. Though Gordon posted several other good chances throughout the remainder of the game, including a volleyed rocket off the crossbar from Hannah Midwinter (Fr./Barkhamsted, Conn.) midway through the second half, Muñoz's single tally combined with a solid all-around effort by the Scots' defense and five saves from keeper Kari Christensen (So./Standish, Maine) proved enough to capture the win.

The Scots return to conference play on Tuesday, October 18 as they host the Colonels of Curry College at 3:30p.m. The Lions, now 8-6-2 overall (2-4-1 in the CCC), travel to the University of New England on Wednesday, October 19 for a 4:00p.m. start.
