Tallamy Nets 30 As Scots Down Pine Manor, 65-53

Box Score
In their final contest before the Thanksgiving holiday, the Fighting Scots improved to 3-1 overall on the season with a 65-53 victory over the visiting Gators of Pine Manor College in a non-conference match-up in Gordon's Bennett Athletic Center.

Gordon crawled out to a very slow start after the Gators opened the game on a 12-0 run to establish a hefty lead just five minutes into play. The Scots answered right back, however, netting 11 unanswered points to close the gap back to within one. Though Gordon would rally to tie the score several times over the next 11 minutes of action, Pine Manor refused to relinquish the lead until just before the half when guard Clancey Adams (So./Simsbury, Conn.) drained a three to give Gordon the 23-21 advantage heading into the break.

Despite concerted effort by Pine Manor to challenge the deficit, the Scots would retain the lead the rest of the way, never allowing the Gators any closer than five in the final 10 minutes of play.

Leanna Tallamy (Fr./Wantage, N.J.), this week's Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week, continued her dominance on the court, finishing the night just one rebound short of a double-double with an impressive 30 points, nine boards, and four steals to lead her team to the solid 12-point win. Teammate Lauren Kranyak (So./Locust Grove, Va.) also had a banner night for Gordon, booking a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Aly Towle (Fr./Rochester, N.H.) dished eight assists and grabbed six off the boards.

For Pine Manor, Therline Dumeran (Sr./Cambridge, Mass.) tallied a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double, Tia Nelson (Jr./Rockport, Mass.) and Phibe Pham (Sr./Boston, Mass.) netted 15 and 12, respectively, and Ashley Carusone (So./Nashua, N.H.) collected 10 rebounds in the loss.

The Scots return to play for their first CCC game of the season on Tuesday, November 30 at 6:00p.m. Pine Manor, now an even 2-2 overall on the year, travel to take on Bay Path on Monday, November 29 at 8:00p.m.
