Women's Tennis Shutout By Bridgewater

In non-conference women's tennis action today, the Fighting Scots were shutout by the visiting Bears of Bridgewater State, 0-9, to move to 0-3 overall on the season.

Despite a strong showing by Kristin Dillon (So./Exeter, Maine) at No. 5 singles who took Bridgewater's Rachael Eramo (Fr./Rowley, Mass.) to three sets (6-4, 3-6, 6-10), the Fighting Scots were outmatched by their guests, losing every other singles match in two sets after ceding three straight matches in doubles play.

Bridgewater's Julie Kraby (Jr./Wrentham, Mass.) had an impressive showing on the court, teaming up with Bridget Murphy (Sr./Mattapoisett, Mass.) for an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles before claiming a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles.

The Fighting Scots return to play on Thursday, September 15 as they travel to face Endicott in a Commonwealth Coast Conference match. Bridgewater, now 2-0 overall, returns to action tomorrow as they host Suffolk at 3:30 p.m.
