Women's Tennis Cruises Over ENC, 7-2

In a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup with Eastern Nazarene College today at the Brigham Athletic Complex, the Fighting Scots cruised to a 7-2 win over their guests for their first win of the season, moving to 1-4 overall, 1-2 in CCC play.

After Kallie Garrett (Sr./Bend, Ore.) and Hannah Damon (Fr./Mystic, Conn.) completed an 8-0 sweep at No. 2 doubles and Kristin Dillon (So./Exeter, Maine) and Katie Madison (Jr./Longfield, Wash.) captured an 8-5 win at No. 3, the Scots went on to claim all but one of their singles matches, with no one in those five singles wins ceding more than three games per set.

Garrett, Alyssa McCarthy (So./Rehoboth, Mass.), and Dillon had particularly strong showings for Gordon, each recording one 6-0 set in their respective wins at No. 1, No. 4, and No. 5 singles.

Eastern Nazarene's Sharon Lemire (Jr./Lyndeboro, N.H.) boasted a strong day on the court for the Lions, claiming a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles and teaming up with Elise Sleeper (Jr./Sanford, Maine) for a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles.

The Scots are back in action on Saturday, September 24 as they travel to face CCC opponent Nichols College at 12:00p.m. Eastern Nazarene, now 1-6 overall on the year, will play host to conference foe Salve Regina on the same day at 1:00p.m.
