Traveling to Rochester, N.Y. for the Harry F. Anderson Invitational hosted by Roberts Wesleyan, the Fighting Scots posted competitive numbers against some of the region's best in just their second meet of the year.
Competing against over 100 runners representing 12 different institutions, Gordon's Levi Miller (Sr./Coopersburg, Pa.) posted the top finish for the Scots, finishing the 8k race in 28:39 to grab 43rd in the field. Teammate Andrew Kwiatkowski (So./Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) was the next finisher for Gordon, grabbing the 66th slot with a 30:33 time with Dwight Huseland (Fr./Lebanon, N.J.) not far behind in the 69th slot with a 30:44 result. Overall the men scored 250 with a total time of 2:34:31.00, landing them in eighth place overall.
On the women's side, Emily Urquhart (Fr./White River Junction, Vt.) had a strong showing for the Scots with a 20:36 time on the 5k course, earning a 24th place finish in a field of 133 runners. Kelcy Rich (Sr./Hudson, Mass.) trailed her by just 13 seconds, taking the 29th spot with her 20:49 result while Katie Hakanson-Stacy (Jr./East Longmeadow, Mass.) took 50th coming in a 21:19. Also helping the cause were Natasha Henderson (Fr./Lancaster, Pa.) at 21:44 in 61st, Amy Holcombe (Sr./Minocqua, Wis.) at 21:52 in 66th, and Rachel Stalker (Fr./Burnt Hills, N.Y.), Samantha Goedeke (Jr./Villa Park, Ill.), and Thais Ziegenhals (So./Essex, Mass.) who finished one after the other in the 72nd, 73rd, and 74th slots, respectively. The women claimed seventh overall with a 1:46:20.00 total time.
The Scots take to the trails again on Saturday, October 1 as they host the Pop Crowell Invitational beginning at 11:30a.m.
