Scots Swimming Opens 2012-2013 Season At Colby-Sawyer

Gordon Swimming opened its 2012-2013 season today on the road at Colby-Sawyer College, with both the men and women coming in second overall to the host Chargers but recording strong individual performances throughout the day.

For the men, the relay team of Austin Drukker, Joshua Florez, Brett Johnson, and Cameron Schofield took a top finish in the 200 medley relay with a 1:50.29, while Johnson, Drukker, Schofield, and Andrew Lewis combined for a first place result in the 200 freestyle relay with a 1:40.08.

Individually, Florez had a banner day with top finishes in the 50 (29.96) and 100 breast (1:05.42), Johnson took top honors in the 50 (27.34) and 100 butterfly (1:03.86), and Schofield bested the fields in both the 50 (24.27) and 100 freestyle (53.50). Additionally, Lewis posted a race-winning 5:34.60 in the 500 free.

On the women's side, Katherine Zablocki led the Scots' effort with top finishes in the 50 (33.93) and 100 (1:13.76) breaststroke, while teammate Emily David did the same in the 100 backstroke (1:06.25) and 100 IM (1:07.32). Rounding out the first place results on the day was Nicole St. Martin, who swam to a 2:09.17 in the 200 free.

The Scots return to the lanes on Saturday, Nov. 3 for a tri-meet against Simmons and host Elms beginning at 1p.m.
