Box Score
Endicott College used a pair of first half goals to capture a 2-0 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) win over the Fighting Scots in women's soccer action today on Gordon's Quad, leaving the Scots with their first CCC loss of the season. With the win the Gulls improve to 2-2-1 in league action (6-4-1 overall), while the Scots move to 3-1 in conference (9-2 overall).
The Gulls took advantage of an early opportunity when a misplayed ball in the Gordon box left the ball at the feet of forward Nicole Fournier (Jr./Milford, Mass.), who slotted it into an empty net to give her team the 1-0 lead just 10 minutes in.
Then in the 33rd minute, midfielder Micaela Hogan (Sr./Salisbury, Mass.) collected a short clear at the top of the Scots' 18 and fired a shot past keeper
Kari Christensen (Jr./Standish, Maine) to give Endicott a two-goal lead at the midway point.
Though the Scots pressured in the second, the Gulls' defense and keeper Katie Donnelly (So./Madison, Conn.) buckled down to turn away all attempts in the half to preserve the shutout victory.
Christensen posted five saves on the day for Gordon while Donnelly picked up her second win of the season behind three saves.
The Scots return to their home pitch for Gordon's Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 12p.m. as they host Wentworth in CCC action, while Endicott hosts conference opponent Curry on the same day at 4:30p.m.
