MEET RESULTS
The Fighting Scots were narrowly beaten by the visiting Golden Bears of Western New England University, 132-128, in women's swimming action this afternoon in Gordon's Bennett Athletic Center.
Although ceding the overall result, the Scots received outstanding effort across the board, turning in eight individual top finishes and two top relay finishes on the day.
Katherine Zablocki (So./Walnut Creek, Calif.) recorded a pair of firsts in the 50 back (34.27) and 100 breast (1:14.48), while teammate
Sarah Salcone (So./Newton, N.J.) came in just behind her in both races at 36.95 and 1:19.75, respectively.
Emily David (Fr./North Kingston, R.I.) also posted two top times on the day in the 100 fly (1:05.98) and 200 IM (2:24.80), while
Erin Walker (Fr./Wenham, Mass.) bested her heat in the 1000 free at 13:03.00 and
Nicole St. Martin (Fr./Westport, Mass.) beat out her competition by seven seconds in the 200 free at 2:09.02.
Earning the relay firsts were David, Zablocki, St. Martin, and
Julianne Kirkpatrick (So./Rochester, N.Y.) in the 200 medley (2:04.71) and St. Martin, Zablocki, David, and
Cassie Wetzell (Fr./Ham Lake, Minn.) in the 400 free (4:05.68).
The Scots have nearly two weeks off before returning to the lanes at the Roger Williams Invitational on Friday, Nov. 30.
