MEET RESULTS
On the road in Chicopee, Mass. today for a tri-meet with host Elms College and fellow visitor Simmons College, the Fighting Scots ceded the overall victory on the day but recorded noteworthy showings on both the men's and women's sides in just the second meet of the season.
Andrew Lewis (Fr./Mystic, Conn.) had another strong day in the lanes for Gordon, taking top finishes in the 800m (10.00.95) and 400m (4:50.73) free and teaming up with
Brett Johnson (So./Easton, Mass.),
Austin Drukker (So./Bedford, N.H.), and
Cameron Schofield (Fr./Middleboro, Mass.) for a first place result in the 200m free relay (1:50.68).
Josh Florez (Fr./West Hartford, Conn.) and
Brian Pearson (Sr./Kennebunk, Maine) also posted a one-two finish in the 100m IM, with Florez turning in a 1:13.05 and Pearson coming in just behind at 1:15.34.
The women recorded respectable finishes against tough Elms and Simmons squads, as
Katherine Zablocki (So./Walnut Creek, Calif.) took second in the 50m (38.03) and 100m (1:23.78) breaststroke and
Emily David (Fr./North Kingston, R.I.) booked second place finishes in the 100m free (1:05.47) and 100m IM (1:14.38).
Additionally, the relay team of David, Zablocki,
Nicole St. Martin (Fr./Westport, Mass.), and
Julianne Kirkpatrick (So./Rochester, N.Y.) finished just behind Elms in the 200m medley relay at 2:19.08 and second to Simmons in the 200m free at 2:01.57.
The Scots take to the lanes again on Wednesday, Nov. 7 as they travel to Bentley University.
