The Fighting Scots cross country teams traveled to Williamstown, Mass. today to compete against New England's finest at the ECAC Championship hosted by Williams College at Mt. Greylock High School.
All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) honoree
Leanne Beedle (Fr./Bethany, Conn.) was once again the Scots' top finisher, coming in 54th out of the 284 competing runners on the 6k course at 25:01. Teammates
Samantha Goedeke (Sr./Villa Park, Ill.) and
Mary Beth Gray (Jr./Gaffney, S.C.) were the next two to cross the finish for Gordon in 88th and 95th, respectively, Goedeke at 25:29 and Gray closely behind at 25:42.
Overall the Scots finished 17th of 41 with a 2:08.55 total time, while Middlebury took the overall win on the day with a 1:57.02.
On the men's side,
Wes Nelson (Fr./Charlton, Mass.) was the top Scot and 106th overall finisher, completing the 8k terrain in 29:10. Gordon's second finisher,
Andrew Kwiatkowski (Jr./Yorktown Heights, N.Y.), ran his way to 129th at 29:42, and
Andrew Swanson (Fr./Lexington, Mass.) came in third of all Scots and 137th overall in the 287 runner field with a 29:54.
As a team the men placed 24th of the 43 teams represented in the race with a 2:30.43. Amherst owned the day overall with three runners in the top ten and a 2:14.28 total time.
