On day one of the Snowball Invitational hosted by Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I., the Fighting Scots women and men came in fourth of five teams while the host Hawks took top honors on the opening night of action.
Emily David (Fr./North Kingston, R.I.) turned in the Scots' best individual performance on the evening, taking third in the 50 free with a 26.42.
Nicole St. Martin (Fr./Westport, Mass.) also had a standout solo night, coming in fourth of 20 competitors in the 500 free at 5:21.68. The two then combined with teammates
Katherine Zablocki (So./Walnut Creek, Calif.) and
Julianne Kirkpatrick (So./Rochester, N.Y.) to secure a third place result in the 200 free relay (1:50.61).
On the men's side,
Cameron Schofield (Fr./Middleboro, Mass.) recorded a second place finish in the 200 IM at 2:11.25, while Andrew Lewis booked a 5:21.68 in the 500 free, good enough for fourth place. Schofield later teamed up with
Austin Drukker (So./Bedford, N.H.),
Joshua Florez (Fr./West Hartford, Conn.), and
Brett Johnson (So./Easton, Mass.) to take third in the 400 medley relay at 4:05.54.
