Kendra Kerr (Jr./Marshfield, Mass.) led the Leopards of Wentworth Institute of Technology to a 58-37 win over the Fighting Scots in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action this afternoon in Gordon’s Bennett Athletic Center, netting 19 points and grabbing seven boards to help improve her team to 6-3, 2-1 in the CCC. Gordon falls to 2-7 overall, 0-3 in conference on the year.

Wentworth's Ashley Conway (Sr./Danvers, Mass.) and Carly Rogers (Fr./Scarborough, Maine) were strong on the offensive as well for the Leopards, chipping in eight points apiece.

Brooke Kratche (So./Chagrin Falls, Ohio) led the Scots in the loss with a 15-point, 11-rebound double-double, while Skylar Bareford (Jr./Stonington, Conn.) added eight points and teammate Clancey Adams (Jr./Simsbury, Conn.) tallied as many rebounds.

While impressive from the line at 92 percent (11-12), the Scots struggled heavily from the floor in the first, shooting just 10 percent to Wentworth's 44 percent (11-25) while allowing a 20-5 Leopard run to fall behind 28-10 with 4:21 remaining before the break. Though the Scots were able to stave off the Wentworth offense in the closing ticks, they were unable to close the gap significantly and headed into the locker room trailing, 30-16. 

Turnovers proved to be the Scots' downfall in the second, as the Leopards capitalized throughout the half to stretch their lead to as many as 26 before closing out the afternoon with the 21-point victory.

Both teams break for the holidays with the Scots returning to the court again on Saturday, Dec. 29 as they travel to Cambridge, Mass. to face the Engineers of Massachusetts Institute of Technology at 2 p.m. The Leopards are back at it on Wednesday, Jan. 3 as they host Rochester Institute of Technology at 2 p.m.
