Scots Host Bridgewater State In Final Meet Of First Semester

MEET RESULTS

Freshman Emily David (North Kingston, R.I.), Gordon's Athlete of the Week, broke two school records as the Fighting Scots played host to the Bears of non-conference Bridgewater State University in their final meet of the first semester tonight in the Bennett Athletic Center.

David first tore down a 12-year old 50 back record with a 30.22 time and followed that up by establishing a new mark in the 100 IM at 1:05.81. She also teamed up with Nicole St. Martin (Fr./Westport, Mass.), Katherine Zablocki (So./Walnut Creek, Calif.), and Julianne Kirkpatrick (So./Rochester, N.Y.) to out-pace the Bears in the 200 free at 1:51.06.

Zablocki had a banner evening in her home lanes as well, coming in first in the 50 (34.40) and 100 (1:14.82) breast, while St. Martin took top honors in the 50 fly (31.50).

On the men's side, Austin Drukker (So./Bedford, N.H.) and Joshua Florez (Fr./West Hartford, Conn.) recorded a pair of firsts each, as Drukker won the 1000 free (11:34.08) and 100 back (1:01.60) and Florez did the same in the 50 (30:41) and 100 (1:06.39) breast.

Building on his record-setting performance from this past weekend's meet at Roger Williams, Andrew Lewis (Fr./Mystic, Conn.) set a top time on the night in the 500 free at 5:31.48, while teammates Brett Johnson (So./Easton, Mass.) and Cameron Schofield (Fr./Middleboro, Mass.) recorded top results in the 100 fly (1:01.24) and 50 free (24.23), respectively.

Drukker, Florez, Johnson, and Schofield also combined to best BSU in the 200 medley relay with a 1:49.67 result.

The Scots take a break from competition before returning to the lanes on Saturday, Jan. 5 at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla.
