Scots Drop Fourth Straight To Mount Ida, 72-55

In women’s basketball action tonight at Gordon’s Bennett Athletic Center, the Fighting Scots dropped their fourth in a row to non-conference Mount Ida, 72-55, to fall to 2-4 on the season. The win improves the Mustangs to an even 4-4 overall.
 
Pacing the victory for the Mustangs was Evebonee Acosta (Sr./Hartford, Conn.) with 26 points, eight boards, and four assists while Leslie Campbell (Jr./Quincy, Mass.) chipped in 15 points, four rebounds, and two steals.
 
The first half proved to be a tight race as the lead was traded six times with neither team able to establish a margin greater than four. With just under five minutes remaining the Scots took a 25-22 lead after a three from Abby Biggar (So./Beverly, Mass.), but the Mustangs buckled down on defense and converted from the line to go into the locker room with a two-point advantage, 32-30.
 
Though score remained a tight 43-40 in favor of Mount Ida at the 14 minute mark, the game from then on belonged to the Mustangs, who closed out the half with a 29-15 run to secure the 17-point win.
 
The Scots’ effort was led by Brooke Kratche (So./Chagrin Falls, Ohio) with 23 points and 12 rebounds, Skylar Bareford (Jr./Stonington, Conn.) with 11 points, four rebounds, and four assists, Clancey Adams (Jr./Simsbury, Conn.) with nine points, and Biggar with seven points, six assists.
 
The Scots travel to Newton, Mass. to take on the Lasers of Lasell College on Dec. 11 at 7 p.m., while the Mustangs take on Western New England on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 1 p.m.
