Scots Extend Unbeaten Streak With 1-0 Win Over Colby-Sawyer

NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Gordon College women’s soccer team extended its win streak to four to open the 2012 season after posting a 1-0 victory at Colby-Sawyer on Tuesday afternoon. Gordon is 4-0, while the Chargers suffer their first loss of the season and drop to 4-1.
 
The Fighting Scots have outscored their opponents 6-0 over the first four games.
 
Gordon freshman Jamie Breton (Concord, N.H.) scored the lone goal of the game in the 21st minute when she beat her defender and found the cross corner of the net. The goal was her first collegiate tally.
 
Junior goalie Kari Christensen (Standish, Maine) made three saves and earned her fourth clean sheet of the season for the Fighting Scots. Senior keeper Shay Spencer (Natick, Mass.) recorded five saves for Colby-Sawyer.
 
The Chargers will play their first road game on Friday at New England College. Game time is 3:00 pm. Gordon will host Salem State on Thursday at 4:00 pm.
