MEET RESULTS
Traveling to Biddeford, Maine today for a head-to-head with the University of New England, the Fighting Scots women were bested by the Nor'easters' varsity team, 119-77, while the Scots men topped UNE's club team, 106-66, in the Campus Center Pool on UNE's main campus.
Gordon's
Emily David (Fr./North Kingston, R.I.) continued to perform well for the Scots in the water with top finishes in the 200 IM (2:26.22.) and 100 back (1:05.50). Similarly,
Nicole St. Martin (Fr./Westport, Mass.) bested the five-swimmer field in the 200 free at 2:09.14, while teammate
Julianne Kirkpatrick (So./Rochester, N.Y.) notched a first place finish in the 500 free, outpacing her competition by 16 seconds with a 6:01.89 result.
The relay team of
Cassie Wetzell (Fr./Ham Lake, Minn.),
Erin Walker (Fr./Wenham, Mass.),
Chelsea Barilovits (Fr./Foxborough, Mass.), and
Sarah Salcone (So./Newton, N.J.) also combined for a winning 2:02.10 in the 200 free.
For the men,
Andrew Lewis (Fr./Mystic, Conn.) was impressive on the day with top finishes in the 200 free (2:02.19) and 500 free (5:30.15) while also combining with
Jesse Laniak (So./Matthew, N.C.),
Brian Pearson (Sr./Kennebunk, Maine), and
Brett Johnson (So./Easton, Mass.) for a win in the 200 free at 1:44.15. Other individual wins included Laniak in the 200 IM at 2:23.37,
Cameron Schofield (Fr./Middleboro, Mass.) in the 50 (24.33) and 100 free (53.28), and
Joshua Florez (Fr./West Hartford, Conn.) in the 100 breast at 1:07.39.
The Scots return to the Bennett Athletic Center on Tuesday, January 22 to host UMass Dartmouth in their final home meet of the season.
