Match Results
WENHAM, Mass. – Gordon Women's Tennis saved the best tennis they have played for the final home match of the year. The Scots blanked the visiting Golden Bears of Western New England 9-0 on a day where seniors Jessie Dupre (North Billerica, Mass.) and Kristin Dillon (Exeter, Maine) were celebrated for their commitment to the squad.

Caroline Hall (Corona, Calif.) and Cindi Flynn (Sunset Beach Calif.) rolled through their first doubles match without dropping a game. The duo improved to 9-3 on the year and 4-2 in conference play.

Western New England's second and third doubles teams proved to be much harder to put away. Tawnie Yeaw (Foothill Ranch, Calif.) and Lily Drescher (Reading, Mass.) jumped out to an early lead over Linda Mustafa and Lindsey Brudvig. However, the Golden Bears second doubles team battled back to draw the match to 6-5. Yeaw and Drescher won two of the final three games to take Gordon's second point of the day.

Dillon saw her first action of the season at third doubles—teaming up with Dupre—for a shot a sweeping the doubles competition. The two team leaders worked well on the court and gutted out an 8-6 win over Kelly Byrnes and Juliette Cormier.

Hall, Flynn and Yeaw all won quickly in straight sets in singles competition to clinch the match overall for the Scots. Freshman Abby Caron (Bedford, N.H.) improved to 2-1 at sixth singles with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Corey St. Louis of Western New England.

Dupre fought off a tough first-set loss to Byrnes at fifth singles and took the match in a third-set tiebreak 10-7. Gordon clinched the sweep only a few minutes later, as Drescher labored through a long straight-set match at third singles, 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 over Joeanna Glantz.

The Golden Bears fall to 4-8 on the year and 1-6 in conference play. Gordon improves to 8-5 and 4-3 in conference, while also clinching a spot in the CCC playoffs for the first time in several years.
