The Fighting Scots closed out the regular season at Fitchburg State today in their final meet before the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship, with the women finishing 12
th of 16 and the men 22
nd of 24 on the day.
Emily Caren set a new school mark in the hammer throw, eclipsing teammate Kagan Magnoli's record set two weeks ago with a 29.71m toss. Sarah Warne, Hannah Fisher, Thais Ziegenhals, and Leanna D'Alfonso also teamed up to take 2
nd overall in the 4x800 relay with a 10:55.79.
On the men's side, Chris Warne broke John Heneghan's shot put mark from 2011 (11.10m) with an 11.30m throw, while Kola Olateju long-jumped to 7
th place with a 6.23m result, reseting Tim Berry's record from 2007. Additionally, freshman Brian Cartularo came in just behind Olateju in the long jump with a season-best 6.10m to finish 10
th.
The Scots will host the CCC Championship on Saturday, April 27.
