Scots Roll Cougars 9-0 for Fourth Win

WENHAM, Mass. –The Gordon Women's Tennis squad rolled to a 9-0 victory over a short-handed Clark University team on a chilly Monday afternoon. Gordon won all six matches that were played on the day in straight sets to improve to 4-3 on the year.

Gordon received wins at third doubles, as well as fifth and sixth singles from the outset of the match due to the Cougars not possessing a full squad. The three-point lead did not deter the young Scots from staying focused on the task at hand.

Caroline Hall (Corona, Calif.) and Cindi Flynn (Sunset Beach, Calif.) drew their win streak to six matches with an 8-2 victory over Sarah Sachs and Rose Burberry-Martin. The duo has not lost since their collegiate debut against Colby-Sawyer two weeks ago.

Tawnie Yeaw (Foothill Ranch, Calif.) and Lily Drescher (Reading, Mass.) found a groove against the Cougars' second doubles team—winning handily 8-0 over Rebecca Kravetz and Jen Comi.

In singles play, Hall rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at the top flight to improve her season record to 6-1 overall. Yeaw followed suit with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Burberry-Martin. Flynn and Drescher also won straight-set matches to complete the sweep for the Scots.

The Scots have an important CCC matchup with Wentworth on Wednesday, as the team will look to nab their second conference victory of the season.
