SPRINGFIELD, Mass.—Gordon Women's Swimming ran its record to 3-1 this season with another comfortable victory. The Scots took down host school Western New England 153-105 after finishing first in each of the first six events of the day.
After a three-second win in the 200-Yard Medley Relay, Gordon took a big lead in the even with five consecutive individual wins. Nicole St. Martin (Westport, Mass.) started the parade with an easy victory in the 1,000-Yard Free before freshman Caris Lyons (Orrville, Ohio) edged out a Golden Bear in the 200-Yard Freestyle.
Alexa Bragg (Trumbull, Conn.) kept things going for the Scots in the 50-Yard Back with a top finish of 30.87 to earn her team nine points. St. Martin picked up her second win of the day just a few minutes later with a half-second win over teammate Leah Snavely (Manheim, Pa.) in the 50-Yard Breaststroke. Emily David (No. Kingston, R.I.) was the fifth straight individual winner with a comfortable win over Bragg in the 100 Fly.
Western New England battled back with two straight wins by Erika Sheinhait, but Gordon's early lead in the first half of the meet became too much to overcome.
St. Martin added to her perfect day in the 11
th event of the afternoon wit a 5:44 showing in the 500-Yard Free. David concluded the afternoon with another gold.
Both Gordon teams are back in the pool next week with an away meet up with Bridgewater State at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
