Three Records Set at UMass-Boston Invite

Men's Results / Women's Results
BOSTON, Mass.—Gordon Track & Field opened its 2015-16 campaign at the UMass-Boston Invitational at the Reggie Lewis Center on the campus of Roxbury Community College. Corrine Previte (Danvers, Mass.) had a status quo day with a pair of solid finishes in short distance events.

Previte had a good showing in the 200m dash, finishing in 11th place with a time of 26.80. The junior was the fourth best Division III runner in the event behind a pair of UMass-Boston sprinters and an athlete from Bridgewater State. Her effort shaved a hundredth of a second off her previous school record in the event.

She had an even better result in the 600-meter race with a time of 1:42.43, which beats the previous school record set last season by Leanne Beedle.

On the men's side of the invite, freshman Alex King (Saint Croix Falls, Wisc.) had a solid debut in the pole vault by breaking the Gordon record. His 12-05.50 foot clear beat the previous high of 12 feet by Brett Haschig in 2010.

Gordon is off for two months until the Boston University Scarlet & White Meet, which will help them gear up for the spring season.
