WENHAM, Mass.—Gordon Women's Tennis wrapped up back-to-back winning seasons with a 7-2 triumph over NEWMAC foe Clark on Wednesday. The Fighting Scots end the season on a three-match winning streak and a final record of 11-9 on the year.
 
The Fighting Scots took two out of three doubles matches against the short-handed Cougars, including the third spot by default. Abby Caron (Bedford, N.H.) and Madeline Berry (Paso Robles, Calif.) breezed past Misa Mai (Sanford, Maine) and Bichtroan Nguyen (Worcester, Mass.) at second doubles 8-1.
 
However the Cougars got their first point of the day with an 8-4 win at the top flight.  Isabelle Long (Bellevue, Wash.) and Rebecca Kravetz (Wayland, Mass.) combined to double up Tawnie Yeaw (Foothill Ranch, Calif.) and Sophie Linnell (Richmond, Va.) at first doubles.
 
Gordon immediately took a 4-1 lead with default wins at five and six singles. Freshman Rebecca Kime (Harrisonburg, Va.) clinched the match for the Fighting Scots with her first varsity victory, 6-1, 6-1 over Nguyen at fourth singles. Nathalia Moran (Lake Villa, Ill.) finished off Kravetz at the second flight 6-0, 6-1 and Alexa DiDomizio (Mahwah, N.J.) handled Mai 6-2, 6-0 at third singles.
 
Long finished a perfect day for the Cougars with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Katherine Jeffreys (Parkton, Md.) at the top singles' flight.
 
Clark concludes its season in two weeks against Worcester State.
