WENHAM, Mass.—Gordon Women's Tennis remained undefeated in Commonwealth Coast Conference play with an 8-1 win over Wentworth on Tuesday afternoon at the Brigham courts. Abbie Denney (Peoria, Ariz.) and Tawnie Yeaw (Foothill Ranch, Calif.) stayed unbeaten in singles and doubles play in the conference, as Gordon ran its win streak to seven matches.
 
The Fighting Scots swept doubles play on Tuesday, dropping only one game between the three matches. Justine Hanson (Meadow Vista, Calif.) and Katherine Jeffreys (Parkton, Md.) teamed up for an 8-0 win at second doubles, while Lily Drescher (Reading, Mass.) and Gabby Brucker (Eleva, Wis.) won at third by an identical score. Denney and Yeaw dropped a game at first doubles.
 
Gordon (7-1) clinched the match early in singles action as Denney and Yeaw both won 6-0, 6-0 at the top flights. Jeffreys, Abby Caron (Bedford, N.H.) and Alexa DiDomizio (Mahwah, N.J.) also won in straight sets for the Scots.
 
Wentworth got its lone point of the match at sixth singles. Kelsey DeGouveia (New Bedford, Mass.) survived a tiebreak in the first set and won convincingly in the second to down Haley Bean (Trumbull, Conn.).
 
Both teams return to non-conference action on Thursday. Wentworth (2-6) will try to break a two-match losing streak at home against Suffolk, while Gordon heads down 1A to Salem State.
