Meet ResultsNEW LONDON, N.H.—The Gordon College Swim teams pulled off their first dual-meet sweep of the season as both the men and women took victories from host Colby-Sawyer on Saturday.
The Gordon men won their second straight meet after starting out the season 0-4 in head-to-head competition. The women rebounded from a tough loss to UNE a week and a half ago to improve to 6-2 this season with a 147-106 triumph over the Chargers.
Gordon will host Saint Joseph's of Maine next Saturday at 1 p.m., which is their first home event since the first weekend of November.
Men's Highlights:- Colby-Sawyer surprised the Scots in opening relay and took most of the points for both relays on the afternoon.
- Senior Andrew Lewis (Mystic, Conn.) and sophomore Jack Cicchelli (Middletown, R.I.) took all the points for the 1,000 Free.
- Dean Drukker (Bedford, N.H.) survived a late charge for a three-second win in the 200 Free. The junior also took a narrow win over Colby-Sawyer's Brett Cayer in the 100 Free with a time of 51.04.
- Josh Florez (West Hartford, Conn.) took his status quo victories in both breaststroke events, winning comfortably in both.
- Dan Fauber (Granbury, Texas) had two individual wins and broke the Gordon record in the 200 Back with a time of 2:01.61.
- Caleb Lacson (Parish, N.Y.) and Cameron Schofield (Middleboro, Mass.) both picked up victories as well.
Women's Highlights:- Gordon and Colby-Sawyer split the relays by a mere second in each.
- The Scots took four of the first five individual events with four different swimmers getting wins.
- Senior Emily David (No. Kingston, R.I.) grabbed wins in the 100 Fly and 200 IM with commanding performances.
- Alexa Bragg (Trumbull, Conn.) swept the backstroke races in close finishes.
