Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Lions Pounce Scots in Opening Half

WENHAM, Mass.—Eastern Nazarene Women's Basketball raced out to a big lead at halftime and held off a better second half by the Fighting Scots to win a Commonwealth Coast Conference game 64-39. The Lions used a strong defensive effort to hold Gordon to only six points in the first half and the Scots were unable to claw their way back from the early deficit.

The Lions take a season sweep of the Fighting Scots and improve to 11-8 overall this season, while holding a 6-6 record in the CCC. Gordon drops to 4-15 and 0-12 respectively.

ENC's staunch defense limited Gordon's looks in the first half and a persistent attack on the other end led to a 33-6 game at the end of the first half. The Scots were a season-low 2-for-22 from the field over the course of 20 minutes.

Gordon looked better in the second half, tripling their first-half output in just four minutes of game time in the third quarter. The Scots got as close as 17 in the second half, but the Lions evened out in the fourth frame to close out the game for good.
