NEISDA Day 1 Highlights

Day 1 Results
KINGSTON, R.I.—Gordon Swimming ended its first day at the NEISDA Swimming and Diving Championships with both teams in the top 12 in the region. The Gordon men sit at fifth, while the women are in 11th place through 18 events.
 
Conference rival Roger Williams leads the women's event with 551 points compared to 155 for the Fighting Scots. Nationally-touted Keene State leads the men's event with 329 points, holding a comfortable lead over Roger Williams in second place. The Scots have 127 points after one day.
 
The Fighting Scots continue the multi-day event on Saturday morning.
 
Day One Highlights
  • The Men's 200 Free Relay team comprised of Dean Drukker (Bedford, N.H.), Cameron Schofield (Middleboro, Mass.), Daniel Fauber (Granbury, Texas) and Caleb Lacson (Parish, N.Y.) broke the school record twice on the day. They finished with an overall finish of eighth in the region with a time of 1:31.30.
  • Senior Emily David (No. Kingston, R.I.) added a third individual school record to her name with a 1:01.42 showing in the 100 Fly.
  • Joshua Florez (West Hartford, Conn.) broke his own record in the 50 Breast. He ended up earning All-New England at second place overall.
  • Fauber earned All-New England status in the 100 Fly, finishing a second behind Kiet Luong of Regis for the top spot.
  • Jack Cicchelli (Middletown, R.I.) and Schofield both finished with All-New England status in the 200 IM with fifth and sixth-place finishes respectively.
  • The Gordon women touched the wall third in the 400 Medley relay to get an All-New England nod.
