MILTON, Mass.—Gordon Women's Tennis rolled to a 9-0 result for the second time in Commonwealth Coast Conference play, beating host Curry on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Scots pulled back up to .500 on the season after a tough loss to Endicott earlier in the week.
Abbie Denney (Peoria, Ariz.) continued her strong start to the season, dropping only one game between singles and doubles action on the day.
Justine Hanson (Meadow Vista, Calif.) one-upped her teammate by having a flawless day between two matches. The two sophomores blanked their opponents 8-0 at first doubles.
Kaelyn Hall (Sugar Land, Texas) and
Maddie Berry (Paso Robles, Calif.) had a sharp 8-2 results at second doubles, while
Abby Caron (Bedford, N.H.) and Gabby Brucker (Eleva, Wisc.) wrapped up doubles play with another 8-2 finish.
Caron and
Haley Bean (Trumbull, Conn.) notched good wins at third and fourth singles respectively by identical 6-1, 6-0 marks.
Emily Leahy (Lake Zurich, Ill.) and
Emily Ontiveros (Sylmar, Calif.) took home their first matches of the season, with Ontiveros getting her first career victory.
Gordon is off until Wednesday when they travel to Boston to take on Wentworth at 4 p.m.
