BEVERLY, Mass.—Gordon Women's Basketball saw its win streak snapped at two games as Endicott held serve on its home court, 61-41. The Fighting Scots were unable to escape an offensive funk all evening and scored a season-low to suffer its second Commonwealth Coast Conference loss of the season. Gordon is now 5-7 overall and 3-2 in the CCC, while Endicott improves to 5-7 and 4-1.
The two sides played to a tight first quarter score at 17-13, but Endicott outscored the Scots 19-9 in the second to take a hefty lead at halftime. The Fighting Scots made it a 38-31 game coming out of the break, but Endicott's 15-0 run over a five-minute span put the game out of reach for good.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
· Tonight's win for Endicott broke a three-way tie for second place in the conference standings with UNE (3-2) and Gordon (3-2). The Gulls are now 4-1 in CCC play this year and sit behind Western New England (5-0) and Roger Williams (5-0) for the top spot in the conference.
· Endicott is now 23-10 overall in the all-time series versus Gordon, which includes a 13-4 mark at home.
· The Gulls' victory also extended their winning streak over the Fighting Scots to 19-straight games. During that span, only two games have been decided by five points or less.
· Endicott held Gordon to 17.6-percent shooting in the second, and 18.8-percent shooting in the third en route to the victory.
· The Blue and Green held Gordon to a season-low 41 points tonight.
· Endicott outscored Gordon 30-14 in the paint, 28-9 off turnovers, and 15-8 on second chance opportunities.
· The Gulls dished out 17 assists, tallied 11 steals, and compiled seven blocks.
FOR THE SCOTS
· Brooke Dyson (Houston, Texas) guided Gordon offensively with 10 points and eight rebounds.
· Alisha Henderson (Oregon City, Ore.) had eight points, while Jenna Olson (Rutland, Vt.) chipped in with five.
· Sarah Gibbs (Elizabethtown, Pa.) also added four points and five rebounds in the loss.
· Sophie Linnell (Richmond, Va.) pulled down a game-high and season-high 12 rebounds, and also registered two points.
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (5-7, 4-1 CCC) travels to Western New England on Saturday for a league matchup at 1 PM. Gordon (5-7, 3-2 CCC) hosts Salve Regina this Saturday in a CCC contest at 1 PM.
